Sarah has substantial consulting experience as a mineral exploration geologist (specializing in gold and base metals) for junior exploration clients in Europe and Africa. She is experienced in managing relationships with investors, host governments, community and partners. She has managed and contributed to exploration budgets and work programs to successfully secure licence tenure, continued investment and define metal resources including, for example, the discovery and definition of 1.8 million gold ounce equivalent resource in Ethiopia and doubling the measured resource of a gold mine in Ireland to 2 Million gold ounces.
Her industry experience is complemented by time in both government and international development organisations on mineral resource development projects at both a national and local level including regional level geological and mineral prospectivity analysis to attract foreign investment in Northern Ireland and Canada, and capacity building programs for artisanal gold mining communities in Latin America. Her experience gives her a unique 360° perspective on the opportunities at the interface between government, community, private sector and artisanal mining. Sarah holds a first-class Masters in Geology from the University of Leicester and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia, specialising in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and sustainability including client consulting projects in Impact Investing, Apparel, and Agriculture industries in Chile and Canada. She also completed an executive education program at the University of Columbia on Extractive Industries and Sustainable Development.
